Trip Notes

The fog was unpredictable today. We spent a long time struggling with identification of faroff alcids we thought were Murrelets, but when we went into the Pigeon Point lighthouse grounds and looked from the observation platform, we had two closeup Marbled Murrelets only 100 yards out in great light showing clear field marks. It was a very gratifying moment.
