Species Notes
From Charleston Slough, Feb 10, 1996 to Charleston Slough, Apr 15, 2013 , we've seen Black-crowned Night-Heron roughly 9 times a year at 67 different locations.
Mary returned from her first birding class talking about this bird, calling it Disney-like; the hunched-over posture, the gleaming red eye. We first decided to purchase binoculars on an early outing when we couldn't distinguish between a night heron and a styrofoam meat tray.
